Remarks :

Occurs in nearly pure stands on alkaline or
saline soils in valleys and meadows, sandy soils
of desert foothills or roadsides, also dry and
gravelly slopes; most abundant on moderately
moist alkaline soils of bottomlands where other
species are not adapted. Withstands flooding
well. Flowers April to September, seeds remain
viable for many years; reproduces by seed and
tillers.
