Remarks :

This erect growing short grass has more
branches in the seedhead than blue grama.
These branches are characterized by a
"stinger" or tip at the end of the branch. Fair
grazing for livestock, but less preferred than
sideoats grama and blue grama. Adapted to
dry, rough, rocky ridges; loose sands or
shallow upland sites.
