Remarks :

This "weedy" annual grass is one of the first
grasses to green up on many sites in late
winter. The plant earned its common name by
coming to the rescue of stockman following
winter when forage was in short supply. Will
generally provide good grazing up till the end
of May. Adapted to a variety of soil textures.
