Remarks :

Other common names, "Great plains false willow", and "Groundsel tree". A much branched deciduous shrub, attaining a height of 3 to 6 feet. Tan or white flowers that bloom May to July, fruit is a ribbed achene with feathery hairs that matures in August. Fair browse for deer and livestock. Good cover for quail and small mammals. Adapted to moist soils in the sun at altitudes of 1,000 to 5,500 feet. Tolerates mildly saline conditions. Very competitive plant in bottomlands, can crowd out grasses and even competes well with Salt Cedar. A major problem plant in some areas.
