Remarks :

Also known as, “Scarlet beeblossom”. Growth 8 – 24 inches, flowers May to August. This plant can vary greatly in size, flower color and pubescence. Often forms colonies. The Lakota Indians are recorded to have chewed this plant and rubbed it on their hands to aid in catching horses. The Navajo used a cold infusion of this plant to settle children’s upset stomachs. Adapted to dry prairies, open wooded hillsides, roadsides on a variety of soils.
