Remarks :

Also known as, “Tahoka daisy” and “Daggerflower”. Flowers May to October. Adapted to sandy soils on plains, hillsides and slopes, often in disturbed dry areas. This plant is not a true aster, due to the spine-tipped leaves. Deer and antelope will browse the leaves. Of little value to livestock. The Navajo Indians would reduce nasal congestion by taking the dried roots as a sneeze-inducing snuff.
